Whilst the Association has begun its Centenary celebrations this year, Province 18, whose twelve Circles cover the County of East & West Sussex also celebrates their Golden Jubilee event, and in mid April, some 80 Brothers and their wives attended a celebration dinner at The White Hart Hotel in Lewes. The guests included Grand President Phil Gidman together with Arleen, and the Bishop of Arundel & Brighton, the Rt Rev.Kieran Conry.

Both Bishop Kieran and Philip Gidman each replied to a welcome by Provincial President Paul Allen, and whilst we were reminded of the founding of the Province on 10th May 1958, we must look forward to furthering the development of the Province. Recent discussions and meetings have been held in Lewes itself with the intention of forming a group in the Town whose past history of anti-Catholicism has been the most aggressive in Sussex.

There were eleven Past Provincial Presidents attending, including Phil Gidman, one of three Province 18 Brothers to have held the post of Grand President since 1992, and the Province looks back with pride at this achievement.

The evening finished with the drawing of the raffle, which raised £367.50 for the Water in Africa project.
